Letter To The Editor

Re: Judge sets $1 million bail for R. Kelly in sexual assault charges It's finally the time for R. Kelly to be served, I am appalled that there was still more evidence in the alleged sex tapes that he has with underage girls. Hopefully, the court case will put him in prison for what he has done. "Surviving R. Kelly", has definitely played a huge role in the arrest of R. Kelly and he probably wouldn't be in the news right now if it wasn't for that. I am glad that it not only woke people up to what happened but gave many voices to the women who are suffering.

Personality profile search

From the Roundup News, I found a lot of interesting profiles about many students on campus but this student wanted to go to school to make a change for herself. This profile stood out to me the most because this student has worked her whole life with her dad and trying to go to school at the same time. While Emily helped with a lot with the family bills she made a turning point to go to school full time to better her education. The lead drew me in especially in the last sentence that there was a bigger issue she wanted to change. The focus was on Emily Andrade and her life working for her dad while struggling with school. The biggest news from this story is that she will be the commencement speaker for the next incoming graduating class. She not only had to help pay for her family's bills but went to college. Her parents were undocumented immigrants that made a huge impact on her life. My favorite quote from Emily,   “I just want to have the ability to meet someone that c...

Favorite Writing

"as she looked into her past, she noticed that the road she had traveled was no simple straight line. Her journey toward fully loving herself and the world was full of forward and backward movement, twists, turns, detours, and even some pauses. At times, she doubted her progress, her potential and even her power to change. But today with the wisdom of experience at hand. She knows she could not have gotten to where she now was without every movement she has ever made." In this poem, the author used to describe a woman's past experiences with a road and movements as if you are driving on a freeway. Her journey of loving herself wasn't really easy and had many movements to it. In those sentences, I wanted to keep reading to see her progress change. Then, I like how the author goes into how experiences, helped her be who she is today. This type of writing makes you think and reflect on yourself. The author is descriptive but not too much th at I don't understand it...
